NaBloPoMo January – Best

Posted on 03 January 2010

I had thought about getting this blog up again and the best way to do that is by challenging myself to write everyday.  NaBloPoMo is a perfect way to do that.

January’s theme is ‘Best” – I am coming a little late to the party, but today, I can tell you the best things about my day today:

I got to see my four year old nephew, who got six stitches in his chin after falling on the ice on New Year’s Eve.  Today, he proudly displayed his stitches and I got to act the part of super impressed auntie as I handed him a bottle of his favorite chocolate-chocolate milk.  I watched his little eyes light up and it was like perfection.  And then I watched him propel himself into aerial somersaults over and over and over again, hanging onto my brother’s hands like he was using the rings in a gymnasium.  Kids are amazing and I feel so lucky to be here to witness it.

Some movies that I saw this weekend that I can recommend:

Avatar – Just wow.  We were able to see the Real 3D version.  I want to go see it again just to stare at the plant life.

It’s Complicated – Every set of this movie was flawless.  If you watch HGTV like p0rn, this movie will leave you breathless.  Alec Baldwin is a total riot.

Sunshine Cleaning – Emily Blunt is fantastic, as is Amy Adams.  A very sweet movie, actually that caught me by surprise.

The Brother’s Bloom – I love Rachel Weisz.  She can do no wrong.  I love quirky.  If you don’t love quirky, this may not be for you.

And now, for bed.  Work starts again early in the morning and I don’t want to scare anyone…

We have about 4 inches I would say and its currently snowing. However, shoveling is a good work out, especially when I wear 4 layers of clothes. I’m going to pretend its my cardio work out for the day. ;)

Shoveling snow is a serious cardio workout – They say it’s prime heart-attack time if you are unfit. We are just hoping our snow melts and thanking the gods that we bought a 4WD!
